Annotations

We introduced the idea of an annotation concept as an information layer specifically indexing words and phrases the company introduces.

The problem for a side panel interaction was the complexity of the responsiveness with a multi-column layout. We explored some other solutions with the panel overlaying the entire page, but eventually opted out of the direction due to the possibility of the highlighted word getting covered.

The solution we landed on was an inline pop up. Luckily, there were code snippets of the interaction from the public library our engineers could easily build from. Images below are my initial sketches for how the feature would function with varying amounts of information showing.
